Bavaria is the largest of the German Federal States in more ways than one. Some of Germany's greatest scenic beauty lies within it's borders. The Bavarian Forest and National Park in the Alps, the Bavarian Bodensee, the Konigssee with Berchesgarten, the Glockenspiel in Munich and the Hofgarten in Ansbach are but a few of the many incredible cultural and natural wonders available to the Bavarian traveler.
The Munich Oktoberfest is one of the greatest folk festivals in the world. Many of the beers produced for this festival are made from hops grown in the state.
The Neuschwanstein Castle built by King Ludwig II in 1876 has been dubbed "the Fairy Tale Castle" because of its almost surreal beauty.
